Watching the barn burn while the sheep graze

How many bills, how many nonsense stories must Canadians consume from state-owned media like the CBC before they smell a rat, or rather the end of their democracy? Let’s look at the CBC for a minute, and see what they’ve refused to investigate.

The CBC has taken the government’s word (and money) on every important issue in Canada. They refused to investigate the trucker’s peaceful protest or question the use of the emergency’s act. Covid and medical treatments as a whole, the complete ban on firearms, billions of dollars leaving Canada at a record pace, and now a push for assisted suicide. In fact, it will be listed as an option when you go to your trusted professional.

With all of this injustice and terrible government overreach that certainly does not bode well for what was once considered one of the most respected democracies in the world, you would think Canadians would be frothing at the mouth with disgust and anger. Instead, as docile as ever the majority of Canadians don’t seem to notice. They squabble over microaggressions and historical figures from the past, uninformed, while our current government oppresses us in real-time. I’ve come to believe that what makes me most upset about the current state of things isn’t so much what the government is doing but that Canadians are letting it happen.

We shouldn’t need a future prime minister candidate to be the bright light we’re looking for in our current pit, but we the people should be fighting these bastards hand in hand, tooth and nail. If they can lie to us all successfully and push through bills, this is no longer a democracy; if they can stifle and brutally assault peaceful protesters without any punishment, this is not a democracy. When they can take away our guns, control what we see online, and keep us from leaving the country, this is no longer a democracy. My fellow Canadians, we are in a dictatorship, and if we do not stand against it, Canada will be lost forever.
